Lifewraps Save Lives
Simple, affordable, and reusable, the Lifewrap helps prevent further bleeding in women suffering from obstetric hemorrhage—the leading cause of maternal death. Help get this technology out to mothers who really need it.
Just the Facts
If your friends knew how many women died each year from preventable complications of childbirth, they’d be shocked—and they’d want to do something about it. Download our top ten facts on this issue and send it to them in an email!
STATISTICS:
In the 1850s, the civic value of reproduction increased in the United States.
The La Leche League, of the United States and prior to the feminist movement of the 1960s and ‘70s, called for an end to institutionalized childbirth and child care, and validated motherhood as a career worthy of respect.

Thanks to previous generations of women, most of us are born and raised in environments where we have a lot of opportunities with regards to education and work. These opportunities, to some degree, flow over into our ability to become mothers and be directly responsible for the well-being of a baby that is totally dependent on you.

The challenge lies in not loosing sight of what is important in making us feel complete and in harmony with our experience as women in today's world. That is so unique and different for each woman, and there is no room for being judgmental.

My work is an attempt to try to remember that reaching a balance is possible, that having a life where you are a mother and a woman is defined in a large part by love, something that can flow over into your work. I combined vital aspects of my experience, such as the music my husband made before our daughter was born and the sound of her heartbeat before she was born, and put all that together with my work with silver, which is something that fascinates me and is the way I express myself.

My husband and I both love music.  He plays in a band called Tristeza [Sadness] while I play in Loopdrop. Music is a huge part of our lives, but the biggest thing that happened to us was on October 7th, 2006, when we welcomed our little Valentina into the world and our liveschanged forever. My heart grows bigger every day that she is with us and I am very thankful.

I want to live in a world where we don't forget to look for beauty in our everyday lives, beauty that almost always requires action and responsibility to take shape-interior beauty that extends outward by the way we experience family life.  Being part of this world, we should be more and more united with those people that choose to live together in peace and with the nature that surrounds us.
