In the end, I managed to find a someone else, but not only was she more expensive, she was an absolute stranger! I was already frustrated, and now I was worried about leaving Sierra alone...
Fortunately, Sierra is a dog and gets along with most people. Interestingly enough, the woman I was on my way to interview had to go through the same ordeal, but instead of a dog, she had to take care of her sick child.
Spurred to action by stories like this woman's, I decided to make a film about the lives of working American mothers. In my research, I learned that 82 percent of all women in the United States become mothers. I learned that most of them work. But I also discovered that American women do not get enough help in raising their children.
